I'm trying to collate some good tools and information for those who are interested in the "Jonas Method" or Moon Phase fertility. Please bear with me as I'm learning all about this myself.
Firstly, some information about this - what it is.
The moon can trigger ovulation and bring on fertililty at any time during the menstrual cycle - including before, during and just after your period. This is called the natural lunar fertile phase.
Essentially, what you need to know is the phase angle - ie the number of degrees the moon is ahead of the sun (as viewed from the Earth) - at the date and time you were born, and then the date and time that same phase angle occurs every month throughout your reproductive life. There are different ways to calculate your personal lunar phase angle to find your lunar fertile time.
Step 1: First work out your personal lunar phase angle.
Step 2: Charting your Ovulation Cycle
If you’re using the method EITHER to avoid conceiving OR alternatively you want to conceive but are not concerned about the gender of the child, you’ll also need to calculate your fertile days on the ovulation cycle.
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ is a community site with free interactive online fertility charting for the ovulation cycle.
Once you’ve worked out the dates for your personal lunar phase cycle, the information from this site should help you chart both cycles and help you to see how the two cycles compare. All you’ll need to buy is a cheap fertility thermometer or alternatively using the Billings “Ovulation” Method (to test your vaginal mucus for signs of fertility). You can also combine the lunar phase cycle calculations with the temperature and mucus methods (Sympto-Thermal Method).
There is a temperature charting tool on Bub Club under Tools menu.

Fiona.... I had to see a counsellor last year. I am not going into why, because I am not ready to share that. In 2009 Kev & I had a rotten year. I was suffering anxiety & perhaps some depression,...
Thanks Sami.
It's only in the last few months that I have really started treating Sarah like a friend. I can see where I am going wrong. If it was someone else I would tell them the same advice...
You only need to buy them what they need tho...I know it is nice buying little luxuries, but tbh, you said yourself, Sarah is becoming spoilt. One day the money will run out/be needed for a child who...
I have been happier though. Last night I was very sad because of the news. I sort of have mood swings compared to what I used to. I think I need to go back on medication. I am sad because I feel like...
Thanks so much Hil and Sami!
I completely agree Sami. Intellectually I completely agree. I sort of feel I have no friends, so Sarah needs to be my friend. I am really worried about inappropriate...
It's raining again. The rain is beautiful, fortunately not too hard either so the kids can walk home.
I'm a bit tired from all the walking yesterday. Normally I am inexhaustible when it comes to...
We are going to AgQuip (a big agricultural field day that I haven't been to since I was a little kid.) It was either that or take the kids to Playgroup. Playgroup would have been cheaper, but Pete is...
What a surprise this must be (to myself as well as to those who read this blog, after my usual whingeing and complaining.) MY LIFE IS AWESOME! Enough said. I can't say too much about last night as I...
I think today is going to be a great day. I had a bit of a sleep in and Pete helped to get the kids ready for school. I went to bed early last night. I needed it! We have had so many late nights...
