Toilet training mishaps
What a day I've had!
Laura Jessica isn't really toilet training per se. She has been to the potty a few times, but she has started taking her nappy off, sometimes unbenownst to me.
First of all today, Sami was on the potty and did a wee. Laura Jessica took the potty and tipped the wee on Sami and herself.
Not long later I was cleaning William's room and found a surprise (a poo!) Laura Jessica had taken her nappy off and done one in there. Fortunately it was easy to clean up!
I forgot all about this sort of thing! It's been a while since I toilet trained a child (Sami is nearly four and has been toilet trained for almost two years.)
It is yuk, but sometimes funny. To view signatures Login or Register your FREE Bub Club membership!

I'd hide the potty from Sami, so there can be no more wee related incidents!
Sounds like they keep you busy, Fi!To view signatures Login or Register your FREE Bub Club membership!

I would get rid of the potty altogether and make Laura Jessica use the toilet. I would then be making sure that she knows it's not play time when going in there.
I would also be telling Sami to use the toilet Fiona as she is old enough to do so.
I know that it's frustrating and sometimes hard to get them into using the toilet but I never used a potty with any of my kids. I figured it was double the work: they get used to using the potty then they have to use the toilet.
That's just my opinion though so obviously you need to do what works for you.To view signatures Login or Register your FREE Bub Club membership!

Oh no, Fiona! Fun times

I wasn't really looking forward to tt DS2 (probably put it off for longer than I should have!) but he decided he was ready and has basically trained himself
Must have a strong bladder though because he has been waking up dry in the mornings for ages. His brother took a lot longer

Thank you everyone! Thank you for the advice Sami and Kylee.... I do try to
get Samantha to use the toilet whenever I can... (she has a toilet seat) but mainly when she does a poo because I hate cleaning a smelly pooey potty!

I hate pottys...they are gross to clean. We have a seat with ladder thing that goes over the toilet that we will use for Ronan. I'm not looking forward to toilet training. He has just turned 2 and it's anywhere near ready yet.
